This beer definitely grows on you like a fungus come the third or fourth sip. At first it hits you with the syrupy/sweet taste (and this taste does linger, but not in a bad way in my opinion), but you have a nice balance with a some crisp hops flavor. I poured this one, great red color to it, little/no head. Definitely one of my favorites in the winter beer category.
Had this at the Sunset Grille today, nice balanced red ale, great for the winter too, without being too heavy.
This is the house beer of one of my friends, so I have a few when I am over there. Which is good because they don't sell it down the street from me. Hoppy, maybe a little metallic at times, but tasty.
I was expecting another overspiced winter beer. Instead, this is a malty, thick brew with no spice at all. Pretty good.
A nice, well balanced amber ale. Plus, it is organic, so it must be good for me, with like vitamins and whatnot.
I usually avoid Winter Ales as being a little too overspiced, but I thought this one had a nice flavor to it, and a nice dark/porter-y beer underneath the spice. Has renewed my faith in Winter Ales.
I wasn't crazy about this, my first foray into Pumpkin Ale territory. I am not a huge fan of fruit flavored beers, but I have no problems with blueberry or lemon finding its way into my beer. But I found this to have too much cinnamon, not enough pumpkin, and tough to drink more than one at a time. I suppose I should hunt down some more Pumpkin beers to compare, but I don't see myself in a rush to do this.
I really, really like this beer in the summer. The lemonade flavoring is just enough to make it taste refreshing, but not so strong that it overpowers the beer. Grab a six pack and watch a ballgame.
Great summer beer. Nice balance of spices I find. A standby for me during the summer months.
