Weihenstephaner Original

Weihenstephaner Original

In 1040 the Benedictine monastery of Weihenstephan was given permission to brew beer in the town of Freising, and also to sell it. Today, the Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan justifiably claims to be the oldest brewery in the world still in operation.

Quote-left500 ml bottle poured into a Sweetwater 420 hefe glass. This head and not a lot of lacing. Color is a clear straw yellow, pretty active carbonation.

Smell is a husky grain, with a hint of citrus. Taste has a more enhanced lemon flavor, with a dry biscuity character.

Mouthfeel is light bodied, yet slightly sticky on the lips. This is an OK beerQuote-right
