Brewed in the style of an American Double IPA in celebration of our 10th anniversary. This beer is golden in color, has medium to full body, intense hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. Ten additions of American hops are made throughout the brewing process.
10.0% Alcohol by volume
This is one of my favorite Imperials. Strong, bitter, flavorful like nothing else and perfectly hoppy... it epitomizes everything a good American Double IPA should be. I just hope they keep on brewing it!
Poured from a bomber. Poured a nice orange with a slight haze to it. Not so much head, but what was there stayed around and had some decent lacing.
The smell got better as it was not overpowering but full of aroma. Mostly the piney scent with some fruitiness in there.
Taste is great. It starts off with a soft citrus hoppy taste and moves into a bold piney hops taste with some of that bready taste. Very nice mix at play.
Mouthfeel was just oily slick enough with some substance. Not too slick and not too thick.
Drinkability is great. Why? The taste is great, combined with the subtleness of it, and the alcohol content. Usually on some heavier alcohol beers I can not drink that many and have to stop due to the taste being overpoweing. Not with this one so much. Definate buy again.
An India Pale Ale almost brewed according to the original recipe of George Hodgson, back in the England of 1750? Can“t wait to try it!
Big double...again, like the Wailing Wench it is very well balanced considering the IBU's
